Yowamushi Pedal

Yowamushi Pedal Synopsis: Sakamichi Onoda, an anime fanatic who has just started high school, intends to join the club. Onoda didn't have any friends in middle school with whom he could discuss anime, video games, Akihabara, and other otaku topics. He hopes to find such friends in the anime club, but he learns that it has been disbanded. He looks for four additional members to join the club in an effort to revive it. Onoda has been riding his mamachari, a large bicycle with a step-through frame that is typically used for short rides, such as for casual enjoyment or to pick up groceries, to travel to Akihabara every week to look at or purchase otaku items. During a training session, Shunsuke Imaizumi, a fellow freshman, and a cyclist notice a boy (Onoda) riding his mamachari up a steep road. Shokichi Naruko, a road racing cyclist and freshman, travels to Akihabara to purchase some Gundam plastic models for his younger brothers. While there, he encounters Onoda, who captures his attention with his cycling prowess on the mamachari, and discovers that they attend the same university. Later, he is urged to join the bicycle racing club by both Naruko and Imaizumi, but will he?
